I wish the inseam were 2" shorter. I would've ordered another pair if they were. The style, material and pattern were all excellent. However, they were too long for me. I'm 5'8" and wear a 30" inseam in pants if that helps anyone out. I had to return them :(.

I've tried a number of Mountain Hardware products and have always been satisfied with the quality and performance of their products. These shorts did not disappoint at all and have become my "go to" shorts for pretty much everything - hiking, biking, and just wearing around the house. I would have given them five stars, but the right side pocket opening is made rather small to accomodate the change pocket at the top. It's a bit difficult to get my hand in the pocket and I don't have particularly meaty paws.
Regarding the length - I wear 32" inseam pants and these are the perfect length shorts for me. The bottom hits right below my knee offering a bit of protection when I'm on the bike. Unlike other shorts that I've tried, these are true to waist size. I wear a 31" waist size in most pants and the 31s are the ones that fit me in this short.

I was excited about these shorts because Mountain Hardwear is reliably good. However, I was very surprised when I tried these shorts on and they were VERY long. I ordered a large (32 waist) I'm 6'2" 180lbs and these shorts came well beyond my knee by several inches. I could not see myself doing any outdoors work or hiking in something like these. I felt like a 17 yr old with this quasi-capris coming down to my shins.
Again, great look and comfortable fabric. But ridiculously long shorts. I'll be returning these for sure.

I wear these shorts on hiking and backpacking trips. They are very comfortable because of the loose fit and longer length. I've waded rivers in them where they got soaked. They dried quickly and were comfortable whether wet or dry. This is my second pair and I'll probably buy another.
