Mountain Hardwear Variant Shirt - Short Sleeve (For Men)

I love the look of this shirt and generally enjoy products from this company. But this shirt is predominantly nylon and comes out of the dryer wrinkled and ironing makes no difference. Fortunately, the shirt's pattern tends to hide many of the wrinkles. The shirt also tends to pick up static easily and to hold it.

This has quickly become my favorite all-use summer shirt. I've used it casually around town and out hiking and kayaking. It looks and feels great and I wear it more than the other two shirts (cotton, MH webster shirts) that I got in the same order. And of course, being synthetic it is quick to dry in all cases. However, while other reviewers have given it a thumbs up on breathability, I'm not so high on that myself...I put it on instead of a wicked T for a hot and humid Virginia AT dayhike and it performed more like a plastic bag (which, well, it kind of is). However, if hiking at 70-75 degrees, it was just fine and the dual stacked chest pocket (one zip, one open) is a nice feature. In all, it's a great shirt as long as you're not going to wear it into the 90s.

Very lightweight and breathable material is perfect for warm weather, summer vacations, camping, etc. Looks good with jeans or cargo shorts. Overall great quality and attractive style.

While many of us go one size up with MH, this item fits true to size. The poly/nylon is super tough and quick drying, good for travel.

I really like the trim/athletic fit & unique details (the tail of the shirt has four slits instead of two which allows the shirt to hang better when you don't tuck it in, an interesting stitch at the top of the shoulder, etc.)
