    Pros:
    Stylish, Top-notch construction, Waterproof
    Best Uses:
    General rain jacket, Mountaineering, Snowboarding
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I was skeptical at first, as I've never had a really athletic cut shell like this. It seemed a bit snug at the bottom. I'm 6'0", 220 lbs and bought the large, which is what I wear in most other outerwear. Now that I've worn it a couple times, I absolutely love the fit. It's snug at the bottom, without being tight, which eliminates the need for a powder skirt. It's plenty roomy in the chest and shoulders for a couple layers, including a soft shell jacket and a Mtn Hardwear fleece vest. I doubt I'll ever need more than that, as I'm a pretty warm person. As far as waterproofness, I wore it in a driving Portland rain last night and stayed bone-dry inside the jacket. Also, I never felt that clammy feeling you get in other WPB jackets. I was concerned about DryQ.Elite, cause it's not the old-standby gore-tex, but I am very happy with it so far. I'm assuming durability will be great, as MH makes great products, and this is a very durable weight fabric with the 70D used all over. Hopefully, it lasts as long as my Marmot gore shell I'm replacing which finally gave up the ghost after 12 years.

    Tight fit

    Backpacking, Mountaineering

I was in the market for a high-end waterproof breathable jacket, something that would hold up to abuse and wouldn't feel like hiking in a sauna. I found what I was looking for with Mountain Hardwear's Victorio Jacket. I've never had a hard shell breathe so well before and yet keep me dry from a wide variety of elements – the DryQ Elite fabric is awesome stuff. I field-tested this jacket in the rugged Adirondack High Peaks. The jacket repelled rain, sleet and snow and never "wet out" over several days of mountaineering. The jacket does fit a little tight; I have problems wearing some of my bulkier layers underneath. If you plan on wearing a poly-fill or down jacket underneath, I'd probably go up one size.

It is a thin and light jacket than expected. It is better for size to have been more smallish and to try on. It is functional and is a jacket which can be recommended.
