No, I would not recommend this to a friend
“Nice shorts but, the rise is too short and does not provide enough room for active comfort. Also, the waist is a true 32 but, the cut of the shorts make them very snug in the hips and the thighs. I have other Mountain Hardwear shorts that I am very happy with in terms of fit and size but, these do not make the grade. They look good but, the fit is wrong for comfortable shorts.”
