I purchased these shorts to be used for hiking and kicking around town and these things haven't disappointed. Some of the features I like are that they are made from nylon which dries fast so I can hike then wade into a river and these things dry extremely fast. They have 4 pockets, two front hand pockets which are not exactly the deepest as other reviews said but I find them adequate, the left front pocket has a place to attach keys. The two back pockets are large and in charge..with hook and loop, and small drain holes for water. They also are located more to the sides of the rear of the shorts which make it easier to get items and makes it less likely to sit on items in your back pocket..nice design feature. Shorts also come with a removable belt and a soft inner mesh around the inside if the waist for comfort and sweat management. Leg openings are cut average and on my 5'10, 190 Lb frame the shorts come down just below my knees and size large is a tad bit big but with the belt they work fine...mediums would have me looking like daisy duke..lol. Shorts also have a gusseted crotch which is also nice when hiking and kneeling. Excellent shorts in my opinion especially when you get an additional coupon...thank you UPS for the fast delivery..thank you sierra trading post for the great prices and for the free year subscription to backpacker magazine from my last purchase...great surprise when i received the first issue in the mail...this is a top notch company!!

Very comfortable shorts. Moves very well with you, non restrictive. Inner material very comfortabl
e on the waist and thighs . The nylon material is very nice and is not that stiff, noisy nylon. Not restrictive at all. Moves well with you.

Well made and simple design. The front pockets are fairly small and sit close to the waist band so they aren't very easy to get into (things won't fall out either!). Rear pockets are held closed by a single hook and loop patch. Seem true to size. Lots of room in the thighs.

These pants are pretty neat. My only qualm with them is that they are a bit large in the waist. I'm 6'2", 160 lbs and usually wear 32-34 pants, but the medium size are a tiny bit too large. They have a built-in belt, so it shouldn't be a problem.
