I really wanted to love these pants. But I had to return them since the zip off portion only shortens the overall length by a few inches. The pants still hang way below my knees. What's the point? You could roll them up for that. I didn't catch the 'capri' part in the description. Darn! How I wish they were shorter... I love the fleece lined waist though.

I love everything about these pants, except the lower cuff drawstring was missing. The clip was there but no cord. They were fine as is but I had to hem them anyway so I added the drawstring elastic. When the bottom is zipped off, they are a little long for my taste but they are wide below the knee and roll up nicely. The material is amazing. Looks like regular buffed nylon but is stretchy and never loses its shape. Even with the shortcomings I mentioned these are definitely my favorite pants!

I am a very curvy size 8 with normal pants. I checked Mt. Hardware's sizing chart and they put me at a size 12 (29 inch waist, 41 inch hips). when the pants came in, I could have fit TWO of me in them!! I exchanged them to a size 8 and they fit wonderfully (even with the "junk in the trunk"). It will take some time to get used to field pants that make that nylon "swish" sound every time you walk, but the quality is awesome and they are great for traveling, hiking, or casual wear. These pants fit close to the natural waist (like most field pants for women). If you have a small to normal sized butt, you may want to consider going a size smaller to prevent the saggy front end.

*I am very curvy and have a very hard time finding pants that fit. For me to have an adequate fit in the thighs and butt, I usually have to buy pants that are about 4 sizes to big for my waist and just cinch them up (not very comfortable of attractive). The stretch in these allows me to buy a size that fits my waist and still be able to bend down without a crack attack happening in back. Water repellent, breathable and convertible.... I think I'm in love. I use these for field research and hiking (around austin and the mountain states). *The only things I would change is 1) Add back and upper side pockets where hands go (it only has 2 pockets total - the lower side ones) and 2) make the shorts a little shorter (these ones go below the knees) - Very minor things as far as I am concerned. I LOVE THESE PANTS.... in fact, I'm wearing them right now.
