These shorts stretch easily and work well for climbing. The drawstring helps make sure they don't ride down but they do run about an inch bigger than normal around the waist. I normally wear a 2 and found them to be a tad bit bigger in the waist than I wanted so I dried the in the hopes they might shrink a bit. I am glad I purchased them and will probably get an additional pair in another color.

I love Mountain Hardwear. They make clothes that fit real women's bodies Bodies that have curves, hips, rear ends, and thighs. I'm an average sized woman - not plus sized - and every other brand of hiking pant fits terribly. The other manufacturers forget that women have shape and aren't built like men. Mountain Hardwear has their pants cut just right for women. I will not buy any brand other than MH for hiking pants ever again. They get it right every - single - time.

Seem to run a little smaller than the same six shorts in different styles of this brand. Very comfortable tho and a great deal.

I have a pair of the Yuma hiking pants and figured I would try the shorts - they are fabulous. I love the stretch fabric, these shorts never bind or creep up no matter what.

If only the shorts didn't narrow around the thighs. I purchased the Yuma pants and LOVE them. The pants were a perfect fit so I figured the shorts would be the same way. They do fit around the waist similar to the pants, but for some reason they narrowed the shorts to a capri kind of fit around the thighs. Not a good idea for shorts. For that reason, I had to return them. If you have skinny thighs, then these shorts should work for you.

I really liked the look of these shorts and the length was perfect however the fit did not suit me. I ordered a size up in these because I wanted them to fit loose, however they were big in my waist and tight on my butt and thighs. I have an athletic build and am pear shaped, theses shorts were not for me. The shorts do appear to be made well and the material is just right.
