(FYI, My figure tends roughly towards "hourglass." 5'8", 140 lbs, got size medium.)
I found this jacket unproblematically large (I could have comfortably taken a small) in the chest, very large and shapeless in the midsection, and just large enough in the hips. I fear if I had exchanged for a small, which may have helped the bust and waist fit, it would have been too small at the hem for my hips. I thought the sleeves were going to be too long, but they turned out to be fine.
Another problem besides the overall fit was the zipper bulged strangely when I sat, giving the illusion of a mutant limb, or perhaps an infant alien, projecting from my stomach/chest. I've always hated when jackets did this.
The fit and the zipper (especially the zipper) were only major, return-worthy problems because I'm quite self-conscious about the fit of my clothes. If you're not, then this jacket would be a better choice for you than for me.
As for more practical matters, a second front/hand pocket would have been very nice. I'm in the habit of putting my hands in my jacket pockets, and having only one pocket put a damper on this; if you don't have this habit, or if you plan to use the jacket for athletic activities where you won't be putting your hands in your pockets for warmth/etc., then it should be fine. I just found the single pocket annoying; that, along with the other problems, made me feel that I could do much better.
I returned this jacket and used my credit to order a different one entirely. Glad that's so easy to do, with Sierra!
