The low rise and snap just don't work on the trail: the snap opens when bending down. The pant leg is a little too wide for comfort. But the brown is a pretty shade.

They are as durable as Carhartts but way more flattering. I was so excited to find their nylon hiking pants on sale in my size. I love the fit, especially through the seat and thigh--shapely but not restrictive. The cut is so intuitive I don't even miss the Lycra (seems many manufacturers compensate for poor design by adding stretch to the fabric). Not to mention lovely colours and excellent durability. However, as a trail pant, I find these totally non-funtional. The problem? The waist fastens with a snap, and because these pants sit low (right at my hipbone), the snap pops open whenever I bend! My other Mountain Khakis use a button closure; it's a shame they replaced it with a snap on these. If they could walk the walk, I would've been wearing these pants nonstop for years.

These are perfect in all respects. I am short (5'2"), so I had to hem the pants because they were only available in a Long. The hemming was easy since the slacks are straight-legged.
