    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I bought two of these. A med. for my 5 year old and a small for my 3 year old. My girls are petite and these were huge on them - even the small on my 5 year old. From what I could see, the waist did not give various positions to help tighten. In addition there is no built in short underneath so for my active little ones, this was a negative. Otherwise, it's cute and appears very durable.

    very nice, well made, versitile skirt, but i bought XL (9/10) for my daughter, thinking I was buying bigger to be safe (she typically wears a 7/8) and it was very snug. It's ashame because she can probally only wear it for a season or two.
