I will be using this bag for my Philmont Trek this summer. My old North Face Cat's Meow had lost its loft and had some zipper damage and I knew it wasn't going to cut it during the cold nights and mornings in the Sangre de Christo mountains. The weight is good, the bag is warm and well made, and it compresses down nicely. I purchased this bag using one of STP's MANY, MANY discount email promos and ended up spending $71.04 including shipping. You can't buy a Coleman bag at Walmart for less than $35 and this bag is miles apart in quality, warmth, packability, etc. Excellent deal on a great synthetic loft bag.

Good quality bag, though is heavier than advertized. I was weighing it, and it weighed in closer to 3.8lbs. (more like 3 lbs 13oz or something) Nice material though. Also, doesn't pack as small as would hope. But has a great feel to it.

Just used this bag in the White Mtn Wilderness of Lincoln Natl. Forest. Kept my wife warm to just below 30F on first night. However, mummy drawstring broke upon application. Sending back because of this. Doesn't pack too small, so not the best pick for backpacking as we were, but might be a steal with coupon code for car camping. Don't expect the greatest quality, however.

Bought two of these to replace our old summer sleeping bags. This was our first time trying mummy type sleeping bags so it took a little while to get everything right. I'm 5'7" and average size. Bag was not too tight around the hips and I even had room to turn on my side. Temps dropped into the mid 30's and we stayed very warm. I was a little too warm early in the night when the temps were around 50. Unzipped a little and cooled off. Feet stayed warm and I actually removed my socks sometime during the night. Usually we sleep in layers to stay warm, but not this night. Slept in a night shirt and was very comfortable. Hood adjusts as tight as you want it around your face. Zipper easy to get to from inside the bag. Zipper at the feet came in handy to let in some cool air when the bag seemed too warm.

  • Question “Can 2 of these bags be zipped together to form 1 large sleeping bag?”
Asked on 9/17/2010 12:00:00 AM by john from rock hill, sc
    • Answer As we only have a right zippered bag, no you can not zip them together. For mummy bags you need to have ones that have opposite zippers, left and a right.
