You can put many tools on it. It would be perfect, if it had just 2 more extetior pouch / zip pocket.

Mountainsmith has been my pack manufacturer of choice for as long as I can remember... The Vero 55 is a no non-sense pack that is built tough for nearly any overnight excursion. I spend a lot of time in the backcountry riding, dog sledding, ski-journing, and camping/hiking/fishing and would recomend this pack to anyone looking for weather-proof pack to keep them high and dry under any uncleament condition. Not to mention this pack has all the bells and whistles included! Buy the best and you'll never be dissatisfied!!!

I've only used this for one overnighter so far, but it carried my downhill skis, boots, snowshoes, and camping gear while I XC skied 6 miles up a road to the trailhead no prob. I especially like the stretchy back pocket which is handy for rappidly stashing clothes. Plenty of places to put your ice tools/poles or whatever gear you need for whatever you are into. Its a bit thin on inside space, so you've got to pack carefully, but it can expand upwards to accomodate more stuff if needed. Mountainsmith rocks!
