The foldable water and food bowls are better suited for a large dog. It doesn't take much to bump them and send the contents flying! I think I will just put our regular bowls in next time since there is plenty of room. We loaded it with food, a tie-out including corkscrew post, a harness and an extra leash. There was room to spare. It was so nice to have everything in one place.

The bag sits on it own without tipping over and is roomy, holding several cans of dog food, toys, leash, water bottle(made by Olly dog which my dog drinks from like a champ), treat container, everything you could possibly need for your dog on an outing, car trip or overnight stay at the vet. Corrals and contains all my dog's belongings in a convenient zippered bag.
The fabric is great - a dense weave that can be wiped clean. The zippers are smooth moving, easily opening and closing without getting hung up. The stitching is tight and I'm confident it could withstand a great deal of heavy use.
I'm so glad I decided to spring for this well made, good looking travel bag.

I don't really think I'd want to put oily dog kibble or greasy food into the storage container or the food bowl, and I'm not sure the dogs would go along with the idea of eating out of a flexible bowl.
Might be just the thing for some dogs, but not for ours.
If the design works for you, don't worry about the construction. Like all Mountainsmith products, this is extremely well made. -

He goes everywhere with me and I can pack everything be needs in this bag. It fits food, poop bags, water bottles, brushes, toys, his travel bed, and more! I absolutely love this and it is certainly better then bringing things around in plastic bags. Great quality and I've been telling everyone I know to buy one

We received this exact "dog cube travel bag" as a gift about 4 years ago. I thought it was the most ridiculous thing, and never expected to use it. It is actually very handy! It has enough space to hold food, treats, leashes, and toys for a long weekend traveling with 2 large dogs, or for a whole week with one large dog. The smaller water bowl and food bag are great for taking on hikes.
