“My son and I took Tucker (a 40# Boykin Spaniel) on his maiden voyage with this pack. It fit him well. Smaller dogs might have some trouble. It didn't take him long to get used to it. Soon he was off the leash and bushwhacking with us. However, somehow he ripped out of the pack (possibly by snagging it) so we had to do a field repair and hike him the rest of the way on a leash. Not quite as much fun for Tucker, but he still enjoyed it. We have plenty of potable water along our trail so we had tucker carry dry foods in water bottles. We found the pack holds four 34oz water bottles or or six 16ox bottles. He took the pack for a swim at his favorite pond and had us giggling quite a bit. The field repair aside, Tucker will now be carrying his "own weight". Love the pack, especially at the price. We don't pack in the food and water bowel, but these handy storage devices around the home. They are quite nice perks in their own right and sold separately by other brands.”
