Very useful for storing things you always carry in your car and want to keep stowed away neatly. The small size fits the back of a Toyota 4Runner and holds a huge amount. I don't have enough stuff [and I carry tow straps, folding shovels, food, blankets etc.] to fill the large size, so bear this in ... Read More

Finally all the stuff I carry in the car is organized. Tote bags for the market, winter survival gear/summer rain gear, etc. Love it.

I wanted this item to organize running/cycling gear in the back of my SUV. Works great for that. Only thing I would change is that the outside bag that the three smaller bags fit into, is large and floppy. Would be nice if it had a little more structure. Otherwise, great item.

As we collect more and more camping accessories, we need a way to organize our gear. A family member had the hauler so we decided to try it out. It's much more spacious than we imagined! We fit all of our kitchen and camping/hiking accessories in the bag (including our sleeping pads!). Combining the three storage containers into one hauler makes life easier. We love it!

This unit has been wonderful in helping my 3 girls stay organized during our camping trips. They each get a colored cube for clothing and then they Caan put it on their bunk for easy access. Well made and sturdy. Just wish the hauler part had more structure. Without the cubes in it just falls over. Overall great product and very happy with the purchase!

Used to secure items carried in my airplane. Makes it easy to move in and out without clutter.

    • Answer The Mountainsmith Modular Hauler 3 is not insulated. It's made of nylon, so it wouldn't keep the cold in by adding ice packs, and would likely start to sweat on the outside of the bag.

    • Answer I do not believe they would allow this as check luggage since it is an open top. You would have to check with the airline.

  • Question “Does this model have the modular units with foam sides so they stand alone?”
Asked on 4/10/2010 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer The hauler has piping for free-standing access, but the modular units only have cross panel webbing for added stability. They will stand on their own though.

    • Answer There isn't any foam on the sides of the Mountainsmith modular Hauler but the modules fit well in their carrier by using straps to compress the modules. The modules have a see through top and also a storage slot to keep a storage inventory list or whatever.

    • Answer The cubes aren't standalone. They fold flat. In order for them to fill up the space allotted in the hauler, they need to have something in them.
