They are sturdy, simple, light enough to pack into another bag or dry bag if needed, perfect size to get one person's gear in them, color coordinated for easy ID. I'm kind of a neat freak and these totally work for me.

To be safe and to keep my family safe I must carry gear that I seldom or may never use. If there is an emergency I have what I need. The Modular Hauler makes it possible to use more vertical space in the trunk. Space is now available for more transitional items, groceries and hardware. It's durable and has been a good value so far. The color coded containers make it possible for me to tell what sort of items are in each one. I like it so far.

I had wanted this item for over 5 years, finally took the plunge and bought it, glad i did! Its huge!!!! Seems a fairly decent hauler. Havent used it just yet, next turkey hunt, couple of months away, have packed it, its swallowed all my gear no prbem, fabric seems pretty sturdy, better than expected after reading some reviews. Glad i bought it.

Question “If anyone has used this for clothing-how much can you pack in one cube approximately? We would like to use for our 4 kids when we go camping or for an overnight but having trouble visualizing what clothes might fit. (Or something else to visualize the size-like a box of cereal or how much food it fit for you) ”

Answer The cubes ARE NOT insulated. They will not keep things cold or warm. They are not padded anywhere. They are however extremely durable and water resistant..not watertight.

Question “The Mountainsmith website says that the outer bag now includes piping to make it free standing.||Is this true for the ones you are selling?||Are the inner cubes free standing?”

Answer These are the older models that are not free standing, though when full they stay up well.

Answer The outer bag is freestanding out of the box. The inner bags will do so after being used.

Answer Inner cubes are freestanding but I would not consider the outer bag freestanding. It collapses fairly easily if not full.

Question “Are these machine washable? Would like to use them traveling and then put them in a machine with hot water to kill any bugs.”

Answer They do not state any washing directions. They are nylon and I would recommend spot washing with a wet rag. They should be ok on a gentle cycle and air dry.

Answer These are not waterproof, though as they are nylon they will be somewhat water resistant.
