I'm not a pro photographer but like to play with a digital slr camera. This 'small' bag is quite big, almost too big for me. I think I need a backpack for my back or I would have gone with the lumbar bag by Mountainsmith. This way I have room to add more non-photo stuff when I travel. I doubt I would ever take my laptop along but there's plenty of room to pack it.

I use this bag for traveling with my cameras and laptop. The layout is interesting and requires a little getting use to.

I am a big fan of Mountainsmith. I bought this bag to move my Canon 7D rig and a laptop. It certainly does that successfully. There is space in the lower, padded section for a camera body and two lenses, maybe three. The upper compartment can carry the rest of the accessories with ease, and the laptop slot in the side is a great design. Now the bad part. The two way zipper for the lower section arrived broken. One of the pulls works perfectly, the other works intermittently, usually not sealing the zipper. As this is the section that holds the camera gear, it worries me to have a busted zipper near the cameras. I worry about the other pull failing. It was broken when I got it, but I was leaving for a shoot the next day or it would have gone back. I like this bag, it's mine now, but it doesn't inspire the confidence I would prefer.
