    Looks and feels great but have not used it yet as I will be taking it on a trip to Africa. Does not put any pressure/load on my upper back/shoulders. I love that you get 3 different ways to carry it-on your hip, over your shoulder and by the handle.

    This was purchased as an all purpose activity/rescue pack for skiing, cycling, short hikes. Good, solid substantial construction. Flexible carry options. Still optimizing the configuration but adapts to differnet loads for activities so far. Comparable to packs costing 3X the cost at STP, including high end rescue models.

    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I was portaging my canoe in the BWCA and the pack almost slipped off my behind it dropped so low. I had to unbuckle it and come back for it on a 3 quarters of a mile portage. I read in one of the reviews that there was a procedure for tightening the straps, I couldn't make it work. It was fine with just a very light load in the pack.
