They look solid and functional. The anti-shock seems to work well. But I only tried them at home, I have not use them out on the field yet. For the price, I think they are worth it even if they end up being not the best out there.

I got the poles along with snowshoes to have when I take someone who does not have gear. The poles are heavy and did not come with the larger baskets but should be OK as guest poles.

Took these out on a hike in the Columbia River Gorge on steep terrain. Being able to decide whether to use rubber tips or carbide tips and trying the built in shock absorber made the hike interesting. In no time I found the right combination and really enjoyed using them both up and down the hill.

I bought 2 pairs for my wife and I to replace some poles from the local giant discount chain. These appear to be more substantial (w/o any extra weight)and I paid about the same on STP by getting them on sale. We actually got a lot of miles out of the cheaper poles so I'm hoping to do the same with these.Haven't had the opportunity to use these yet however.

Great Lightweight poles. Purchased for the high country in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. These were perfect for the very steep, rutted trails and roads we walked. Light weight and collapsible for packing, and easy to expand to the correct lenght using the markers on the poles.

I purchased the same pair a few years ago. The poles successfully crossed the Grand Canyon and 20 miles in the Grand Teton NP, plus numerous short hikes in Ohio, with no problems. I'm sure [$] poles have some better features, but these meet the basic need at a great price. I bought a second pair for my wife or kids (teenage) to use on future trips.
