Cons:
Not for high instep.
Best Uses:
Nice with pants.
Sizing:
Feels half size too small
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I ordered these shoes in the metallic ivory color, as I think it was called, and it's a beautiful, neutral color. To my eye, it is a very, very pale metallic beige color. I LOVE the color. (That's why I chose them in the first place.)
I have several light-colored pairs of pants (gray, natural colored linen, off-white, etc.), and I wanted a pair of shoes to go with them in the same tonal family. These fit the bill.
To tell you the truth, I probably shouldn't have kept these, but they're such a pretty color and look so pretty on the foot, I kept them anyway. I did order a half size larger, as suggested, and they are fine in the length. I found them to run a little narrow, though. (I normally wear a medium width, and these are mediums.) My biggest problem is that the instep is way too tight on me, and the heel slips enough to cause (I suspect) a blister if I were to walk around in them all day. This is a fitting issue with my feet, not a problem with the shoes.
I think they're well worth the money I paid for them, and I like the fact that they're not just flat as a pancake, like some of the flats I see. They have a little bit of a heel, which is much more flattering on the foot. They also have a little bit of padding in the sole, which isn't always the case with flats either.
I guess my only caution would be, if you have a high instep, as I do, beware.
