If you're looking to lighten your pack's weight for a more enjoyable backpacking experience (without sacrificing comfort and quality), then this tent is an ideal place to start. One of the most striking things about this tent is it's compact size and ultra low weight. With it's cleverly designed stuff sack, the Meta1 packs down to the size of a football, and feels like a true featherweight in hand. In fact, the first impression is that it's hard to believe that you're actually holding a full-feature tent. And it only gets better once you set it up! It's as simple as staking out the corners and inserting a trekking pole. The single-wall design is well thought-out and virtually eliminates the condensation common with many single-wall tents. After using it in Winter conditions, the Meta1 had no excess moisture build-up, and held up exceedingly well in snow and moderate force winds. This really speaks volumes to Nemo's emphasis on using quality materials and construction. The vestibule is a huge bonus for protecting your pack, boots, and other gear from the elements. Under a light snow-load I did find the side-walls sagging in slightly, but this was easily remedied by using the 2 included side-wall guyline attachments to add further structural stability (as well as increase interior space and headroom). Overall, this tent combines the ultra low-weight and packability of a tarp-tent shelter with the full protection of a classic tent... resulting in the ultimate lightweight tent!
