I purchased these shoes last March and wore them pretty much every day. I generally like New Balance shoes since they are one of the few that makes a comfortable wide shoe and my past experience is that they are pretty durable. The 4E size is very comfortable if you have a wide foot. This particular shoe has some big drawbacks though. The soles held up pretty well but the suede uppers did not. After about a month of regular wear, the suede tore on both shoes where the shoe flexes at your toes. As others have noted, the shoe gets dirty easily and cannot be cleaned. These shoes would definitely not stand up to rocky uneven terrain.

This shoe is as advertised. Very comfortable and true to size. I normally wear a 10.5 to 11 shoe and the size 11 fit fine.I also need a wide shoe and the 4E is comfortable. Great cushion. The only down side to keep in mind is that suede tends to show dirt relatively quickly compared to a cloth or regular leather shoe.

These are very comfortable shoes which are cheap enough to get dirty and not care. I used to save my old pairs of shoes for yard work, mowing, dog hikes, etc., but now old shoes make my feet hurt. I need something with cush, but not to nice, because I'm going to mess them up right away. The soles are thick, the ankle is very padded. They do run a size small.

My son has wide feet and New Balance is one of the few makers to offer wide sizes. Finally his feet aren't pinched at the end of the day!

The perfect all around shoe for doing most anything. Usually wear a 11.5 W and ordered the 12 4E--perfect fit. Color and style looks great with with any color I'm wearing. Highly recommend.

Wide feet, nearly square, run in my family. New Balance shoes offer the width I and my sons need. I love these shoes for their great combination of good traction, light weight, good fit, support, comfort and appearance.

Too bad about the poor fit. They did not come in a box, worn previously and probably a return item which was then sent to me.

These are great shoes and well constructed. I wear them at work with khakis.

We live in the mountains and do nearly all of our workouts outside. I wanted a shoe that was close to a hiker, yet could withstand a little more running and be lightweight, as leather hikers really seem to break down quicker up here when you use them for running in addition to cross training and hiking. Could be just me. Either way, these shoes fit that bill.

I find these shoes have good support and fit. Note that as stated you need to buy a size larger than what you normally would buy in a New Balance shoe.
