New Balance M1222 Running Shoes (For Men)

Training for a July triathlon.

I have worn New Balance for years and these were the first pair I didn't like and had to return. They appear to have had a short shelf life. Must be a bad cut/design.

Good shoe for no-nonsense high-miliage runner

Seam where tongue is sewn to the upper seems quite large and could cause irritation on the top of the foot. I haven't really used them yet except to try them around the house, so I don't know for sure if this will be a problem.

This is my second pair of NB1222. This shoe has excellent arch support and good cushioning in the heel and forefoot. It provides very good motion and stability control. It has resolved my shin splints (as did the NB991)! It feels a little wider than the NB1221 (which I slightly preferred over the NB1222). I wear a 10 1/2 dress shoe, but wear a 11 1/2 in running shoes (to have a thumb width at the toe end). I have not tried the new NB1223. The NB1222 is a great shoe overall.

Very comfortable shoe, allows foot to breath, not too plastic like other brands

A great shoe if you are over 180 lbs and have a normal arch. They feel a bit "chilly" when the temperature drops below 30, but a thicker sock or liner helps. Very stable foot control.

I USE THESE SHOES FOR WALKING ON A TREADMILL.
