5.0 out of 5 stars. Wide foot, great shoe!
Reviewed by Anonymous from Arkansas on Saturday, March 22, 2014
I have a difficult time finding shoes that fit properly because of foot pain, feet that are two different sizes by a half size, and slightly wider than average. I researched shoes online, and then searched Sierra to see if they had any shoes recommended for these issues, wide foot especially. The Minimus was one of the suggested shoes, so I took a chance on these. I ordered a size up from my regular shoe size as I always do with tennis/athletic/hiking shoes. They are great!!! I am thrilled! They are comfortable, and unlike many women's athletic shoes, they are not so bulky that they make my size 10 feet look huge. They are actually the only flattering pair of athletic shoes I have ever owned. One note: when I first tried them on I could feel an uncomfortable bump through the sole of the shoe. I thought I was going to have to return them, but my sister, an avid runner, said to keep them, that the sole would wear down. So I kept them on and wore them in the house to see, and within an hour the sole was wearing correctly for my foot. Really can't say how glad I am that I ordered them and kept them!!!

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Over the top shiny

The 5.5 was very small. If you like bling in a shoe then this one is for you. Cute in style but over the top in the shiny/sparkle factor.

These shoes are great. Super lightweight and great for a run in warmer weather. The price was amazing and that makes the run even better!

The shoes are lightweight and comfortable! They do run a half size small so order accordingly.
  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Love New Balance but not this time

I have been wearing New Balance running and tennis shoes for many years, so looked forward to wearing this colorful pair. I was very disappointed that I could barely get my foot in my usual size 8 wide. Sadly, I had to return them.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Light and cushioned at the same time.

The description of these was right on. They are lighter than traditional running shoes and the heel is lower, which reminds me not to plant my heel first. But they are not "barefoot" style. They have some cushioning and protection. Still, I noticed that I felt acorns underfoot when running on trails. I have used them for trails and pavement, and so far, I have noticed no difference in how my feet and legs feel. I don't do high mileage; just 3-6 miles, 5 times/week. On Occasion, I will go back to my highly cushioned running shoes, just to mix it up a bit, but I don't feel that that is necessary.

As for sizing, I am usually a 9N in regular shoes, and my last New Balance shoes (fitted at a running store) were a size 10. I got these in a 9.5, which is a little snug, but isn't causing any pain in my toes. I have narrow feet and don't like my foot to move around, so I am happy with this fit.
