New Balance Minimus MT20 Trail Running Shoes - Minimalist (For Men)

Closeouts. New Balance's Minimus WT20 minimalist trail running shoes are engineered to position the foot in a neutral stance to promote a mid-foot strike, enabling a more natural gait for both neutral and pronating runners. Additionally, this ultralight and highly breathable pair is constructed with a minimal Vibram® outsole and a heel-to-toe-drop 4mm to help simulate barefoot running.

I use this shoe from trail running to long approaches to walls. On the approaches I am generally carrying a 50 lb pack. The MT20s have most excellent traction, mainly due to the Vibram sole. They are very lightweight and super breatheable.

I actually bought these to wear when traveling in central america. I wouldn't recommend these for heavy duty backpacking by any means. However, because of their light weight, compactability and how quick they dry, they fit the bill for what I was looking for. (Just a shoe to where while traveling from town to town by bus or boat). They seem to hold up well for this purpose. I also use them for light running in the mornings.

These shoes are comfortable and low to the ground. Good for lifting weight as well as running, so I plan on using these for Crossfit workouts. My only complaint is these seem to be larger than other NB shoes, so I had to buy a 1/2 size smaller than normal and still seem a little looser than my other NB shoes.

I had a pair of the New Balance MT101 in a 9.5D and I LOVED them to death. I bought these in a 10D (based on the user comments that they were 1/2 size too small). The 10D were tight AND short. So then I bought the 10 1/2 D and they were still too narrow but now they are too long. I give up. New Balance needs to get consistent sizing and Sierra Trading has to include real world sizing information in their descriptions. Making customers pay for all of this shipping and returning is bogus when there's no consistency, no sizing help and no way to try them on.

I've worn these in all conditions including a Tough Mudder. I muddy them up, hose them off & take them out for more. They truly are minimal trail running shoes so be sure that's what you are looking for.

This is the second pair of these shoes I've owned; I bought this pair for when the originals wear out. I have been trying to develop a more forward-foot stride. These shoes have very little difference between the toe and heel heights and naturally lend themselves to landing towards the ball of the foot. They are very comfortable and conform well to my foot. I bought a half size up based on other reviews.
