Reviewed by newengland girl from northern new England on Monday, April 15, 2013I love the minimalist feature -- it's so comfortable to walk. my first time out I went 6.5 miles walking/jogging and my whole body felt good! (these ARE a minimalist shoe -- don't expect support and cushioning, that's not what minimalist shoes do!) advice: take it seriously when STP says 'runs small'. they also run narrow (i have a wide foot, so i went with mens shoes thinking the regular width would be wide enough -- it's not. i returned for a larger/wider size. one small issue: I have to put adhesive tape on my achilles where the back top seam hits. it's got a liner that covers the seam, but man, once my foot is in it that padding compresses and the seam cuts right through my skin. the little strip of adhesive tape on each heel fixes it up so there's no problem. a third small issue: dirt did get inside the shoe as I walked on the shoulder of the road. actually a surprising amount of dirt. not sure if it went around the tongue or through the mesh. I'm looking into versions that have the tongue bonded to the shoe to help prevent that if I get another pair, but for sidewalks/pavement that would be a non-issue. It didn't cause any problems with my walking/running -- no chafing or blisters or anything. can't beat the price for a chance to try out a minimalist shoe. If you like running barefoot they're good!

Not much cushion, and if you step in a puddle your socks and feet get soaked (but they dry quickly). They do make your feet work harder than traditional shoes, so be prepared to break them in slowly. I don't recommend running on the road with these.

Super-flexible sole gives adequate ground feel for a sole of this thickness (10mm). Sole is not waterproof, so don't be surprised if stepping in a shallow puddle gets your foot wet.
