Possibly the best trail runners I've ever owned. Light, minimal, with just enough cushioning. (No rock plate in these, though, so might not be the best choice if you run trails with sharp rocks that can't be avoided.)

First, I love these shoes. I started last year with a pair of Merrell Trail Gloves but found their extreme minimalism to be a little painful on rocky trails. When I read the on-line reviews stating the MT10s aren't quite barefoot shoes due to a slightly thicker sole and 4mm lift in the heel, I wanted to give them a try. Went to Tucson during spring break and did a lot of hiking (Sabino Canyon, Saguaro National, etc.) on trails with many sharp pointy rocks and these shoes were great. On surfaces where my Trail Gloves would have me stepping like a kitten with sore paws I just powered on. I still like the trail gloves and find they have more room in the toe box than these MT10s, but the NBs are my new favorites!

I have been looking for a ultra lightweight running shoes that can also good for hiking/walking. I've looked at Vibram Fivefingers shoes but getting in and out of those is a hassle plus I don't really like their looks. The NB MT10 is exactly what I was looking for. Ultra lightweight and comfortable toebox(eventhough it was slanted inwards). I bought 2 pairs - this orange pair for running and a grey leather pair for hiking/walking.

I like this better than the five figer shoes. At first I also thought these fit narrow straight out the box. I fixed that easily by loosening the shoelaces, as simple as that sounds. The construction material is such that you can easily over tighten them if you lace up too tight. After a few uses and breaking them in I dialed down how I liked them laced up. Now, I feel like Im running on clouds. I wear socks. I cant get used to bare naked feet inside a shoe. Plus after 4 or 5 miles I could feel a little bit of a blister starting to cook up on my pinky toes. The toe box feels wide enough; my pinkys just do this weird bend thing. They breathe like if they had lungs. And they are very light. This is probably my favortie item I have bought on STP, so far.

I use this shoe for weightlifting (80%) and treadmill tabata (20%). Excellent grip, super flat sole, hugs the foot. I ordered this in a size smaller (11 vs. 12) than my normal running shoe and it actually fits better. A great shoe at a superb price.

I bought these for my son, the third pair he has owned. His first pair was purchased while hiking the Appalachian Trail as an all-round shoe for when he wasn't wearing his boots. They were comfortable right out of the box for him. Sierra's price was wonderful!
