    Half the physical weight of older styled designed Nikon spotting scopes. Not sure if that is a good or a bad thing. Time will tell how durable it is. Typically Nikon sells a sold product with higher quality optics than their other competitors. My guess is the housing isn't metal, but some synthetic plastic other wise it would weight much more.
