    for the money, these are the best binoculars I have ever looked through. they work great for low light and have a very large field of view. If you're not concerned about buying a name, Nikon optics are the way to go.

    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    This was to be used for birdwatching. You have to be about 20 feet away to focus, which is a problem if the bird is 10 feet away (e.g., on a feeder). Strong red-green color fringes seen on edges against a light sky. I expected better from Nikon.
