The Nikwax products work very well and I've been using them for a long time. They do help to extend the life of clothing, sleeping bags, etc. Also, they do a good job of removing dirt.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Bottle calls for commercial washer and dryer, and also has passed the expiration date shown. Since we can't think of why it should expire and want our down items protected, we're keeping it. Won't really know how it works until we clean the winter coats; but do believe we should have known about an expiration date.
