I don't believe in bad weather just bad gear..One thing you should know is it will make the color of your boots or shoes darker.

Question “When applying this category of product (water base) over a different protective shoe/boot product already on a pair of high quality shoes that is silicone and non-water base, will Nikwax adhere or roll off?||Also, with silicone-treated leather, can this product function or will it fail to protect it?||These questions are based on early Nikwax experience with as-new and new boots, where nearly a decade ago the product failed to perform and several alternative products are no longer marketed since they were of a petroleum base. Yet they worked excellently. ||So, before purchasing water-base outdoor leather protective products this is the glitch when manufacture-treated leather or previously non-water-base treated footwear is exposed to Nikwax.||While the brand has an OK reputation, several now-extinct products were left behind that in my experience were far superior for leather. Sad what a decade of 'progress' can do to degrade market value of quality footwear with low quality coatings.”

Question “Does this come in White, does the manufacture recommend it be use on Birkenstocks?”

Answer The Nikwax Liquid Waterpoofing Wax for Leather only comes in the "Neutral" color, as advertised. It will also work perfect on Birks.

Question “Since this is liquid, is there a spray appicator or does it pour on?”

Answer It has a sponge applicator.

Question “Does this product change the color of leather?”

Answer It may make it slightly darker, but should keep it relatively the same.

Answer It does make it darker and smoother or at least it did on my boots. I think they look better now than they did.
