We used the product on an older tent... We stayed dry in a big storm - our first nite camping!

We have a lot of hand-me-down kids' snowsuits. they are in great condition, but the original DWR (waterproofing) has worn off. I use Nickwax tent and gear proof every year at the beginning of winter to re-waterproof all the snowsuits - it's awesome! Lasts all winter. It does help to have 2 bottles on hand, as you might run out mid-project. Also, it's hard to spray out the last bit from the bottle, so I save that and pour it into the next bottle.

Used the bottle on a new tent. Used the tent in heavy rain, and product seemed to help bead water off tent. The product is expensive for what you get. This bottle barely covers a small one-two person tent.

I bought Nikwax to treat the aging nylon spray skirt and cockpit cover I use with my kayak. I'd read reviews for a number of products and Nikwax was the one that got the most positive ratings. It is easy to apply. I tested my gear after it dried and the water just beaded up and rolled off. As an added bonus, it made the black nylon look practically new. This product is far superior to silicone based water repellents.
