I cannot rate this product yet other then to say that the application was easy. I am a sailer and have a set of Gill foul weather gear that I applied the product to. I will be participating as crew in the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race this October and also be sailing back to Connecticut in open water afterwards.
This will be the real test of the products water proofing ability without a doubt.

Spray on everything that you want to stay dry! Spray a plain old windbreaker inside and out and let it dry in the sun. Follow the directions and you will have a great hiking jacket, that you can re-spray as needed. This will work for a light to moderate rain lasting about an hour. After that the fibers of the windbreaker will start to absorb water. But hey, you didn't have to spend any more $$ on goretex! Plus, the large bottle yields lots of sprays for other water repellent gear!

I spend much of the year in sandals. This brought a grungy pair of old Birkenstocks back from the dead. Makes every pair of sandals fresh. Easy to use on synthetic or leather.

I use this to revive my raincoats to make them completely waterproof again. Why buy a new jacket when you can revive it!

When you spend big $$$'s on waterproof and breathable gear...why risk destroying it to save a few dollars. Have been using this for several years and it does what it claims - keeps your gear's waterproofing a good as new.

I recently washed 2 Gore-Tex jackets with this Tech Wash and did a little test with water: the water appears to bead up and run off as expected. The Gore-Tex also has a nice pliable feel to it after being washed as if it is more of a fabric than a plastic now. Last year, I washed some other snow gear in Nikwax Wash-In TX Direct Waterproofing. As far as I know, these are similar products. The jacket and pants I washed last year remained completely dry in a snow storm last winter. These are good products.

I find this excellent for Gore-Tex clothing. I use this on fishing jackets that get pretty dirty and smelly and after a wash I put them in the drier on low heat and the water repellant finish is as good as new. Never disappointed with Nikwax products and always stock up when STP have them in stock.
