The weight and softness are perfect...a substantial piece of clothing that's great for cold weather. I wore this over a nice, cotton turtleneck when the temps hung around freezing all day and felt perfectly warm and snug. Nice and roomy. I generally wear a 16 to 18 top and the Large is perfect.
