These boots are my everyday ski boot. As a retired racer, I have been using the Nordica boot for 30 years, first the Grand Pre, now the Doberman line. It's a perfect fit for me. Even though I am no longer racing, I still demand enjoy the control these boots allow. The Doberman may not be for everyone. Try them if you dare. Elevate your skiing to another level.

The UK sizing was a bit confusing. I've always used a mens size 8 (mondo 260) and the size 7 UK were exactly the same sole length of 305mm. Nice boots and soo good looking.

This is a race boot, pure and simple, but if you can't fit into a plug 150 flex boot, then this is the boot for you. It has a 98 mm last, which is wider than the traditional 95 mm plug last, and can accommodate a wider foot. Now, when I refer to the sizing being true to size, it sized like my old race boots. I have a US size 11 foot, and ended up going with the UK 9/US 10 size, so size according to that. Traditional sizing numbers are bogus, unless you know what you are looking for.

Onto the perks - these boots are really hot looking, the top of the liner cuff is leather (or looks like leather), never seen that before, even on all mountain boots, much less race boots. Pull the liner out, and surrounding the foot, up until about the ankle is an aluminum (or chrome-coated plastic) heat shield to keep your tootsies warm. Now that is Italian ingenuity at its finest. As a disclosure, I have not raced on these boots yet, but I have traditionally raced on Nordica Dobermann Pro 130 boots, and I expect, performance-wise nothing less from these: stiff, fast and responsive. Fit-wise, they are true to what I said above. Also, I said that they are hard to remove when cold as a con, it's all that I could think of. A race boot should be difficult to remove, that's what makes it nice and stiff.

Normally, my boots require a lot of fitting, right out of the box, it seems that these will require a lot less, if any fitting work done to them at all. One thing I will do is put a Booster strap in place of the power strap it has now, usually prevents shin bang.
