Obermeyer Mala Jacket (For Women)

Nice overall style and fit. The white piping is pretty and figure flattering. I bought a size 10. I'm 5'8", 155 lb. with long arms. Sleeves are plenty long. This black jacket has a white "star" design on the back, which I don't recall seeing in the product pictures. OK for sports, but kind of detracts from the solid black color. Without it the jacket would look dressier. Leaving the hood down hides it.

Bought this color in the powder blue and love it. I usually wear a size 6, but bought this in an 8 (because the size 6 was not available) and it fits just fine. Still enough room to wear some layers underneath, but the jacket seems warm enough without having to wear too many other layers. I've only worn the jacket a couple of times out at Big Bend at night when it got very chilly. The jacket kept me warm and comfortable. Have yet to wear it skiing (main purpose for buying jacket). There are plenty of interior pockets, but the only exterior pockets are very shallow. The jacket is also a bit shorter than what I'm used to, but since I ski in bibs this should not be a problem. Overall, I love the stylish look and color of the jacket, and believe that it is functional and warm enough for my needs.

If wearing a sweater, it's a bit snug in the armhole.

Nice jacket. Lots of pockets. Great color. Didn't like he way the hood snapped on to the jacket. It made the collar stiff around my neck. If you didn't want to use the hood it would be more comfortable.

Loved this jacket. Light. Lots of pockets inside and out. Great color. It was just a trifle too tight at the hips. Couldn't wear it with a heavy sweater. Ended up with an OutdoorResearch jacket. Great product, tho.

I was looking for a waterproof, warm jacket for colder days for downhill skiing and around-town. I am a 10/12 usually, small busted, and the 10 fit fine with room for base layers. Nice quality, comfortable, hood fits even my largeish head, plenty of interior pockets. Hand pockets are smallish, and there are no other exterior pockets. Would be nice to have an exterior breast pocket. No pit zips, but I don't like them anyway. Overall, exactly what I was looking for, except for the exterior pockets.

This jacket is not only superior in function, but also in style.

Was disappointed that the jacket does NOT have underarm vents (no vents) or zip out skirt (stitched in skirt) as noted in the product information but is still a good jacket. I found it a little short in length for everyday use but it is fine for skiing. I am very happy with the color.

The black trim at the bottom does not exist on the actual jacket. There is an inner black skirt, but it is not at all visible at the bottom of the jacket
