Reviewed by kerry from California on Wednesday, July 17, 2013I have been looking for a ski jacket for some time and this one stood out. I appreciate the name brand, Obermeyer has been around a long time, my friend has had a one piece outfit for years and she love it. To find this on line at Sierra Trading Post and at such an amazing price was fantastic. The design of this jacket is the kind you can wear for winter sports (for me downhill skiing) but also can be comfortable for casual use. The style is not boxy, has a nice cut in at the waist, you feel feminine. It also took care of all the practical issues with loads of pockets. The one on the upper chest already has a built in goggle cloth (attached with elastic) and you still have room for ski card, ChapStick and cell phone. The fleece material at the cuff is a bonus, will keep out the winter chill without constraining elastic. The hood is extremely large to accommodate your helmet but can be adjusted down and your have the option for the hood and/or the fur trim removal, provides good versatility. Not that you want to fall but sure is nice to have to have a powder skirt built in the jacket, as well as a drawcord at the bottom of the hem, to keep the snow out. Since I purchased this item in July have not fully tested it but when I did try it on you could definitely tell it was well insulated. The fit in a size 10 is perfect for me (sizing chart accurate) and still leaves room for layering. I am 125 lbs, 5'2", with a 37 inch chest measurement and have broad shoulders. I am very pleased with my purchase and the service of Sierra Trading Post. If you want a stylish, warm and quality piece this is the one, I am excited to wear it this coming winter.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by MountainDriftwood from Boulder, Colorado on Saturday, November 17, 2012I'm not a skiier, but I hike and live in my jacket all winter in Colorado. Long enough to cover my butt, wind resistant (wind here is hellacious), has a slim, shaped profile which I prefer to bulkier jackets. Drawstrings and velcro for comprehensive fine-tuning, reverse zipper. On brutally bitter-cold days, I wear a thin tech-fleece jacket underneath and I'm toasty warm. Design is sophisticated, outer fabric is soft, this one (fortunately) doesn't have the bling the most recent iteration of it does. In a perfect world, it would have cuffs with thumb loops, but no big deal. Hood is huge to accommodate helmet, but it's adjustable and I like the faux fur...keeps snow from hammering face. Discreet pockets and loops, goggle/sunglass cloth. They've thought of everything. I tried on several different jackets and this was the winner.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by GIGI from Houston, Texas on Wednesday, August 29, 2012I love my new jacket! I got the Waterfall color and it is even better in person. The fabric is really nice too. I'm from Texas, so I will not get to try it out until December, when I go to Utah...can't wait.
