Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by Colorado hiker from Colorado on Tuesday, March 24, 2015I say this after skiing two full seasons in this jacket, so it's been field tested over more than 30 days of skiing in Colorado. If they're still making this after I wear out my present one, I'll buy this again!
My only complain with the jacket (and the reason I docked a star) is about the vent zippers. There are two on each side, one under the armpit and one on the chest. Opening them is easy. Closing them back up, not so easy. The webbing inside gets stuck in the zippers. Every. Single. Time. I had seen another reviewer comment on this, but before owning this jacket, I had not fully appreciated what a major pain that could be.
Still, great jacket!
Reviewed by Colorado hiker from Boulder, CO on Thursday, May 29, 2014I had been skiing with my down jacket for years, when I ordered this -- my first dedicated ski jacket. What a difference! When I layer this with a sweater underneath, and open the vents appropriately, I'm never too cold nor too warm. And I say this having skied a full season, with temperatures from +40 to -10. This jacket has enough pockets to hold everything you may need on the slopes, and a sleeve pocket for your ski pass. Wrists are nicely gusseted, kept my arms warm. The hood is large enough to fit over a helmet, which means that it looks scrunched up and weird if you don it without a helmet, but they do mention the large helmet-compatible hood, so that's to be expected. The wrist cuffs are large and are meant to be fastened over the gloves, which becomes interesting if yours gloves are gusseted as well and are supposed to be fastened over the jacket sleeves (that was the case with me, but it was resolvable) :-)
Overall, an excellent ski jacket. I also used this as a regular jacket on the not too cold days of winter. The only complain I have about this jacket are about the zippers for the vents. It's easy to open them, but well nigh impossible to close them with gloves on. The webbing inside the vents always gets snagged in the zips, a problem rather difficult to circumvent with skiing gloves on.
Reviewed by Hiker from New York on Saturday, December 28, 2013It came very fast. Jacket is perfect fit and warm.
Reviewed by Victor from Rochester, NY on Wednesday, November 27, 2013I like the look and weight of this jacket. Need to layer under it as it is not a true below zero parka. The medium runs big, so there is room for base layers.
Reviewed by SSM from Monument, Colorado on Saturday, October 26, 2013Very nice jacket with lots of features. Easy to understand why this is a best seller.
