This is a great handling kayak and can take on any water, and I owned one for almost 4 years. I recently downgraded to a 12 foot (different brand) because I found this one too large to put on/take off of my SUV (even with a hullivator from Thule)! If you live at the Ocean or can store it there and don't have to always transport it with a car it is a great kayak, handles well and can take on big waves like a champ - in fact the person that bought mine from me lives at the Ocean and loved it so much me bought one for his wife as well! However if, like me you transport your kayak every time you want to go out on the water I would recommend a smaller one (12 feet or smaller).
