Okuma Fishing

Reasonably well-made with a good finish. The drag knob has a very limited range, meaning the increment of change between each click of the knob is more than it should be making it difficult to make small changes in drag. If you're looking for a moderately priced, medium quality reel then this is a fair choice.

I expected this to be a killer reel of great quality with all the features of a much more expensive Abel or equivalent. I fish primarily in saltwater for fish that require a strong smooth drag. I was a bit under-whelmed with this reel. Construction is good although there are some small "flimsy looking" parts when you remove the spool. Also the drag requires some initial force to get started which might be enough to break some lighter tippets. All-in-all a good starter or spare reel, but not what I was hoping for.

This is a nice outfit at a great price. I would order another one for my brother if they weren't already sold out.

Not a bad back-up rod. Construction does reflect the price - reel seat and real are not top quality by any means, but it is a decent starter or back-up rod and good value for what STP is asking for it.

The reel for is smooth and fast reeling. It's a little heavy but its worth having when fishing for larger size game fish.

Great all around reel. Wouldn't use it in saltwater very much because they drag is a little hard to maintain but occasional salt use should be fine.

I live in Durango, Colorado, and spend most of my time in the river chasing Rainbow, Brown and Cutthroat Trout. My friend and I recently decided that we are going to add Pike to the list. My 5-weight rod just couldn't handle those large Pike flies, but this rod and reel combo does the trick. My friend is a fly fishing guide here, and after trying out this rod/reel combo, he even encouraged another fishing buddy of ours to purchase the same combo so he could go Pike fishing with us. Okuma makes a great product, and for this price, this is one of the best deals out there!

Have other Okuma fly reels, good value and quality

Fished a delayed harvest stream in NC & caught a lot of fish. No problen with the reel. Drag worked well when a 20"er went downstreem. good fit and finish. Would buy again.
