These are my first pair of Old Gringo boots, and they are beautiful and well-made. They required virtually no break-in time (half-hour at most). Also, because of the distressed leather, these are boots that are on the gray side of the brown spectrum, which makes them all the more versatile in term...

This is my 2nd pair of old gringo boots. The quality is wonderful. These are going to be that classic nicely made pair that you would have for years. They are a little taller than my other pair but went on fine. I bought the 8.5 this time (9 almost always in athletic shoes) and they worked good with thick tights. My other pair I bought the 9 so they dont run small. These are slightly distressed and beautiful.

I love these boots. I ordered them just in time for spring break to San Antonio. I was a little worried about all the walking I would do once there, but I wore the boots anyway, and I didn't have any trouble at all. My feet tend to be very sensitive and prone to blisters with new shoes. I didn't have any after a full day of walking around the Riverwalk and downtown San Antonio.
I will say that the first pair I received unraveled a bit after only a few days of wear - the decorative stitching. However, I've had a replacement pair for over a week and nothing of the sort has happened (and they're just as comfortable).

These boots are great. They fit and wear very well. That's why they got a 4-star. However, my decorative stitching is already coming unraveled at one point on my right boot, and I've only had them for a week now.

The other reviews that mention there is practically no break in time needed are right!!! The only thing I needed to do was scuff up the sole on some pavement so they weren't so slippery when walking. These are the most comfortable boots I have ever bought! The first time that I wore them out was to the George Strait concert and I had a decent walk from the parking lot, and it was no problem in these. They are gorgeous and comfy, I couldn't be happier! Not to mention that the shipping was super fast too, another bonus!

First I tried Dan Post then Caborca, both brands put in some sort of fancy arch padding that hurt my foot. Yes it is a personal problem that may not effect you.
The old Gringo boots were true to size and have nothing in the way of foot support, which may mean that you will need to add some padding. I have orthodics that I don't always wear with shoes, but they made these absolutely perfect.
These boots don't need much in the way of breaking in, except that I'm having a bit of rubbing on the ankle, I'm only wearing them in the house until I see if this is a break in problem and goes away.
They definitely have the "old cowboy" look. I love them with skinny jeans and with too long boot jeans that gather a bit in the heel. (old school)
They are not made for large calves though.
