OllyDog Dog Pack - Medium

Purchased this pack for day hikes with our 70 lb dog. Pack fits well although the adjustments are difficult to make. The pack would be more dog friendly if additional straps were included as the pack to help keep the pack centered on his back as it has a tendency to slip and spin when not balanced perfectly. I would have sent the pack back but decided I could sew on additional straps myself to solve this issue.

MY dog wore the Olly pack 1x. It kept shifting back and when he put his front legs up on a log (to climb) the pack slide off his back. It needs a chest strap.

Fits my 70 pound pitbull mix perfectly. Stays balanced well and he doesn't seem to mind wearing it at all.

I have a 3 year old from a shelter, black lab, flat coat retriever mix 44-50lbs The medium back pack is perfect size.Ordered this dog back pack for training purposes to walk without pulling, walking to left side, a bit behind me. Dog took to wearing it immediately, first day wearing empty around the house for a while. Next morning she sat, allowed me to put it on with books packed on each side. I am adding more weight until she slows to the pace I am seeking. Great quality I expect she will wear it for a long time. The price was great for the quality of the product..Thank You Sierra Trading Post for carrying so many good quality products. A dog back pack is a great training too, as important as a good leash set.

I shopped around quite a bit, and certainly found no better priced dog pack. Really for the quality this is a steal, if you want to get your dog packing. My dog is strong for his size, and this pack will just make him stronger, until we can really get into the mountains and use it. It's well made, but the buckles have a tendency to slip. Easy enough to just tug it snug again.

My dog and I hike some tough trials, and he has never had a problem, I would say "just don't overload him" it works great and stays cool. no problems with it at all. thank you Sierra trading post. The Brysons

I was looking for a pack for the dog to carry a little more than this allows. The pockets are not very long and only accomadate small items.

Fits my boxer well and allows him to carry his own water and food which enables us to take longer hikes. The pack is easy to put on the dog, even full, which I like. Makes starting at the trailhead a breeze. For balancing issues....the packs get loaded with the same amount of water in each + travel bowl + snacks and get unloaded equally. A bit of water from one side, a bit of water from the other...equal amounts. A bit more trouble, but gives me a longer break. Even with this, there still remains the same balance issues that others have discovered, but it seems to bother me more than my boxer. In addition I have noticed that the front chest strap slips down at times over his front legs. I have solved this problem with a velcro strip that acts as a guide and attaches the chest strap to his collar. I also added sheepskin padding around the chest strap as his white hair is much finer and thinner than the brindle hair and I wanted to prevent any possible chafing. I was a little concerned that he may overheat with the pack on, but after hiking for several hours on a rare hot summer day, his hair was not even wet under the pack. All in all, we seem to be happy with this purchase.

Fits my Shar-Pei well, not an easy dog to fit with anything! He doesn't seem to have any concerns about wearing it and is excited for the walk when we put it on.
