OllyDog Dog Pack - Medium

I had been looking for a backpack for our dog Victory for a while. This one does exactly what we want and allows him to easily carry his own food and water on hikes. He doesn't seem to mind it at all and get really excited when I get it out and pack it since he knows it means a day out exploring!

We have hopes of having the dogs carry their own food so they can go backpacking with us. Durable. Needs to be a way to tuck the excess webbing away so not to drag on the ground.

My dogs love to go camping with us. We have had dog packs for a while and this is one of the best. Very durable and not restricting for the pup. Move the dog food and toys to the dogs back and a bottle of wine in your pack...everyone is happy!!!

I already have the Mountainsmith Dog Trippin' kit and love it. That item was not available, so I bought this one. It ends up sliding over to one side every time the dog wears it. If there is another way to adjust it, then I have yet to discover where it is or how it works. If it had another stomach strap it would probably be fine, but I'll be returning it soon.

I was on a 2 day backpack. The first time she wore the pack the plastic the buckle hooked into came out of the fabric. I had to carry 2 days worth of food and water for the dog in the mountains.

Overall this is a good product, but the adjustable straps don't hold well. Had to put some sticky velcro on the straps so they wouldn't slide and loosen while my dog is wearing the backpack.

We got this because our coonhound, Gambit, is really energetic and after a long hike he still has energy but the wife and I are wiped. The pack fits well and Gambit seems unconcerned with it. We put a couple water bottles in the pockets, he was tired before we were! My only complaint is that the front and back straps should connect over the dog's chest, because out of box our dog can slip out of the harness if he pulls back. Solid product, great value, and it looks adorable.

Fits well but could use a second strap underneath for stabilization. Good for hiking. I bike with my dog a lot and I do not think it will be good for long runs, comfortwise.

I was impressed when I first looked at it and began adjusting the straps to fit my dog. I put it on her, it fit nicely, good size bags & the ring for a leash in the correct spot. I took her for a walk, and when she pulled a little she gagged slightly as if she had a choke chain on. Upon inspection I realized that the chest strap was rubbing and putting pressure on her sternum area. It rubs there because there is no strap to go between the dog's legs and keep the pressure off the dog's chest. The strap on this pack goes right across their chest and that is going to be uncomfortable for them. I've found by getting another pack that this is essential for the dog's comfort and health. The lack of that between the legs strap that hooks to the other straps could cause them some problems if they wear it a lot and perhaps tend to pull some. It's going to wear a sore eventually on their chest and could even cause an internal problem because it is right on their sternum. If this part of the design were fixed it would be a great backpack, but for now it's just an ok backpack that we might use if we can't find her regular one that we bought after I saw this one wasn't made properly. I also have to find something to pad that strap across the chest so I don't have any vet bills from using it.

I have 5 border collies and it is tough to keep them busy year round so I bought these packs for them when I snowshoe into our cabin. They think they are so important with their new job - other than herding sheep!
