OllyDog Dog Pack - Small

I brought this pack to add alittle more work out for my hound/border collie mix. He is 35 lbs (with a somewhat narrow frame) and over all I think the pack fits him well. I use a no pull harness that the leash attaches at his chest and the pack isn't in the way at all. Took him only one walk to get use to this pack. I did find that I had to tighten down the stomach strap almost all the way. With that being the case I wouldn't recommend this for a dog smaller than mine.

I had her straped in ready to go, I turned around to get my gear out of the truck. Then she bit right through the straps. Never got a chance to use it.

Works as described

This pack works great, although the size "small" is somewhat misleading because it does fit what I consider a big dog. My dog is about 42 pounds with a big barrel chest and it fits him perfectly. It stays on well, generally, until he shakes or runs into something with it.

I ordered this backpack in blue along with the Mountainsmith backpack. I was not sure about the Ollydog one from the picture on the website, but the price was good and I liked that it was a lighter color. I worry about her overheating because she her fur is black. When I recieved them, I liked them both, but the Ollydog pack was much more attractive than I expected it to be. The bags are small, but they are perfect for my 45lb Border Collie mix. I have not used the D-Ring for her leash, so I can't attest to the durability of it. I try to weight the pack evenly, but I don't have it strapped super tight. It seems to stay in place fairly well. She was afraid of it at first, but I made positive associations for her with treats and fun walks and now she loves it. She eagerly runs over and sits in front of me when she sees me pick it up now. She seems to wear it with pride!

I was looking for a lightweight summer pack for my 70 Smooth Collie to wear on our hikes. I was looking at the new RuffWear light pack but I didn't want to spend that much. This was perfect. I was originally going to modify it to clip into Graham's WebMaster Harness but was pleasantly surprised to realize that I didn't have to. The bags are big enough to hold his water bowl and poop bags (empty and full). The harness fits him perfectly and as long as the straps are snug, there is very little movement. Perfect for a light summer pack and, so far, he hasn't gotten too hot like with his Palisades pack (we'll just use that one for fall and winter hikes). I have also had a number of friends try it out and they will be buying one too. The other dogs it has fit are: Great Dane/Boxer mix, American Bulldog and Shepherd mix.

I had to exchange my small for a medium. No problems with STP!

Small means the Packs are small. The adjustable straps can be adjusted to fit even larger dogs like my bulldogs. I have attached a photo of Lolita who is 2 years old, weighs 40 lbs., and has a 30" chest and 20" girth. My other bulldog Spot is a big boy that ways 60 lbs. and he can wear this also, and fits him just fine. I use this for walks, placing a water bottle on each side. They seem to like having a job, and keeps them behaving nicely on outings.

Pouches on each side seem small. The whole thing fits my 50lb lab mix well. She doesn't mind wearing it.

Pack slides down dogs back. Going to try to find the right sport of the dog.
