It was the 1950's when the icy waters of San Francisco Bay drove inveterate surfer Jack O'Neill to develop the neoprene armor that is the stuff of today's wetsuits. Several permutations preceded the arrival of neoprene, including WWII frogmen suits lined with long underwear and later, glued-together pieces of closed-cell foam. Having solved the problem of keeping surfers warm with varying thicknesses of neoprene, O'Neill went on to enhance his wetsuit designs with advancements like the Z.E.N. zip closure system, Smoothskin, Super Seal Glideskin, Plasma Knee Pa ... By KazVerified Purchaser from San Jose, CA on 12/12/2011
    Pros:
    Great rash guard
    Cons:
    none
    Best Uses:
    Swim
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
This is great rash guard. My son has this one and I purchased more for him. I purchased different brands for last 3-4 years for my kids, and this is only one (so far) last more than couple of months. During the summer, they swim almost everyday and even during the winter, they swim couple of times a week. So they use a lot. Most of the rash guard I purchased in the past start streching after couple of month use if not within month. This one does not. It is rather thick material, but it did not bother him. We live Northern California, so it is perfect.

By Camper KidsVerified PurchaserVerified Reviewer from Melbourne, Australia on 10/24/2011
    Pros:
    Good price, Green fabric great
    Cons:
    Red fabric too thick
    Best Uses:
    Beach
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I bought two of these, one in the olive green and one in the reddish colour. The green one is perfect, very well priced, nice light weight and great for keeping the sunburn away when at the beach or pool. The red one was very disappointing though and very thick fabric, not at all suitable for wearing at the beach and while swimming. I would only recommend buying the green colour if you want it for this use.

i wear a women's size 7 and purchased these in a men's size 6. they fit well enough, but after one use in the surf, they become extremely uncomfortable and rubbed on my big toe. seems like a bad design.

This product is perfect for protection from the sun. After being burned numerous times on my back and shoulders, it is finally so great not to have to worry about it. The fit is pretty tight, but that how I would expect a swim suit to be. The color is perfect and the rash guard is great quality. Glad I found it at such a great price.

This wetsuit has excellent seam sealing, stretch and versitility for its price. It is difficult to get in and out of. I had to practice once at home. It will take about 2 1/2 minutes. However, once wearing it, it is comfortable and the back seems to fits better than the ones with zippers. Easier to put on than take off. I would not recommend if not flexible enough to touch fingertips to upper spine. To remove, just need to tug one arm out at a time and turn entire wetsuit inside out. THe 3/2 weight is just right for always cold person to surf in southern CA spring ocean water, could probably be warm enough in winter if I wore the hood.

Just used it Sunday, Valentines' Day, in head high, 58F surf for a more than two hours. Once you get the hang of putting it on and off it's great. Have been surfing So.Cal. for 30 years now and have had mostly O'Neill suits, but this new stretchy neoprene is terrifically flexible and non-binding. I usually have to use a 4/3 but the single glued and welded seams and appropriately placed blind stitches are very water tight and so the 3/2 was plenny warm.
