No, I would not recommend this to a friend
“I am a 30-31 waist, and I got these in small (29-31) which just fit (as opposed to my North Face Monte Cargo's that are also size small, but fit more like a 30-32). But if I gain any winter weight, I'm hosed. I also got these in Bone, and they get dirty just by looking at them. They don't breathe very well making them a little too warm, if you know what I mean: it's like wearing nylon track pants a bit. Although these make a cool "wwwrrrrtt wwwrrrtt" sound when you walk because they're cords, instead of the "zzzttt zzzttt" sound of my GTX and NF. I find the NF more comfy and practical. I may return these.”
