I bought this in part due to the matching snowboard pants - I wanted to X-C in this and also walk or ride my bike to work in winter. Not a good choice! The pants are super - all I could hope for; the jacket is not warm enough. It feels like they left a layer of insulation out, particularly in the arms. Too bad - I'm looking for a new winter jacket now.

By Sconi05Verified Reviewer from RI on 04/28/2012
    Pros:
Features, Lots of pockets, Venting, Warm, Waterproof
    Cons:
HUGE hood, Relaxed fit, Too Heavy
    Best Uses:
    Extreme cold, Skiing
    Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I wanted to love this jacket, but couldn't.I was hoping to use it for skiing, hiking, and other things in extreme cold weather, but the weight and bulk of this jacket makes the hiking and other things difficult. The front closure actually has TWO closures/zippers!One is extra mesh fabric under the outer zipper. It just makes the front bulky along with the oddly placed pit zips(which aren't actually under your pits!).The hood is so big,it looks ridiculous. There's way more than you need for a helmet, plus! The fact that you can adjust it doesn't help because it just makes the stiffer material bunch up and it still looks huge. And for me,it seemed much more of a "relaxed fit".I was hoping it would be more versatile.I didn't notice the weight in the listing states that it's 3 pounds...just too heavy for me- I had to return it.Overall, good quality materials, but maybe too much of it. BTW...to answer a previous reviewers question- The extra strap(which is also oddly placed)inside the jacket is to be able to basically unzip(take the jacket off) but still wear it strapped diagonally over your shoulder like a messenger bag.

My son has the Orage jacket that matches these pants and Sierra Trading was the only place that had the matching pants in his size, He only used them once at season's end but he is THRILLED and can't wait to use them next season too.

I bought this sweatshirt for my teenage son--he is 6 foot 2 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds (very tall and thin). I bought the 2XL for him and it is only slightly big--but he likes it that way. The fleece lining is very soft and he says it feels like he is wearing a blanket, he also likes the style because it's a little long (but the sleeves fit perfectly).
