Orbita Sparta One Open Watch Winder

Great winder. The only problem was Orbita says each winder comes with 2 long life batteries. Unfortunately mine were lacking.

A great winder from the one of the premier manufacturers of watch winders. This product is well designed and constructed. There are really no negatives if you are looking for an easy way to keep your high-end automatic movement watches ready to use all the time.

This winder is one of the best. Virtually silent operation. One D battery lasts about a year. I have over 200 watches and I highly recommend this product.

I have wanted to buy a watch winder for some time now. I really liked the fact that the Orbita brand is made in the U.S.A. in Wilmington NC. I have yet to find a better price than STP. No worries with this winder, works great without overwinding, and the silver finsh is nice.

Received this last week. Came with a CD instead of an instruction booklet which was great. So far, seems to work perfectly and it is very, very quiet. Two thumbs up.

For anyone that owns one or more automatic timepieces, having a watchwinder(s) is a neccassary part of the experience. Unfortunately, other than the cheap winders (mostly Chineese) that usually suffer from poor quality and short life-span, quality watchwinders are expensive. With the Orbita Sparta from Sierra Trading Post, one can purchase, say four, for example, paying about $600, whereas a basic Orbita four-watch winder would run around $2500-$3000. Why not save your money for a great watch and still have a winder that will last a lifetime?

watch is placed on the watch winder after work and on the weekends. I never have to reset the time anymore because I forgot to wear it for one day. The winder makes a little click sound when it is going through its rotation but it is barely noticeable.

I looked at watch winders for a long time before deciding to finally "splurge" -- so I knew that the Orbita Sparta was considered one of the better of the basic "inexpensive" winders. When I saw it at a good price at my favorite store, Sierra Trading Post, I finally broke down and purchased it -- as a gift for my father, who was constantly complaining about his Rolex. (He likes to take it off on the weekends.) Well, the winder works great, and Dad complains no more, as his watch is now keeping perfect time. I'm sorry I didn't buy one sooner! It's also a surprisingly fun toy, as it moves the watch only about every ten minutes...so for days, we would try to "catch it" working! Now it's like getting a little greeting when you come in the room. It should be noted that this is the older model Sparta, which takes two DD batteries (the newer models have a lithium battery). But so far, so good, and we couldn't be happier! (Also, please note that the power switch is not on the bottom, it's on the back, so the "dissapointed" reviewer must not be using it correctly.)

With two favorite automatic watches now I can switch watches without winding and setting the dates. The winder is cool itself. Also, it is reliable as the watch time is accurate. The winder is great as I have been looking for about three years as some on the market are noisy or difficult to place watch onto winder. This is a great find!
