Overall a great watch. I have seen some comments about this watch being too heavy or too bulky but not in my opinion. I don't notice the extra 100 grams when I am out running. The tapered square case and band fit very comfortably even on my somewhat smaller wrists. The titanium case looks excellent and after about a month of use shows no signs of wear (built like a tank). The altimeter, barometer, and compass functions (ABC) are as user friendly as any other ABC watch I have tired and with a quick read over the manual you will be using the granite peak to its full capacity in no time. As far as accuracy goes, the barometer trends haven't been wrong about predicting inclement weather yet and the altimeter is dead on if calibrated to a reference point just before use. I say this because the barometric pressure and altimeter sensor are one in the same so changes in barometric pressure (i.e weather) will affect the altimeter readings if you are staying at fixed elevation. This is true for all ABC watches though. Once calibrated, the compass is also very reliable (takes about 30 seconds). The user replaceable battery is a great plus as well. My only issue is that this watch does not offer as much flexibility to customise what information is displayed on a single screen compared to some other watches. All this means is toggling between functions a little more often. The quality and fit of the origo definitely make up for this.

All functions work as described, temp reading has to be off wrist like all other watches that have this function. Must calibrate all functions at start of trip, like all watches like this. All fucntions seemed accurate on recent backpacking trip, compass was very useful to verify track w/GPS, barometer was useful as well. Altimeter matched waypoints as long as it was calibrated with known spots. Again, as long as it is calibrated at decent intervals, all worked well.

This origo watch was a replacement for a suunto and many of the features I wish the suunto had the origo does have, ie., a band notch to keep the band closed on your wrist. Mode lock to prevent accidentally activating a mode while doing active physical tasks highly recommend this watch. Only complaint, while the watch body is steel and heavy duty, the band is poly rubber and I wish it was steel as well
