Origo Rendezvous Peak Sports Watch - Reverse Display

Calibration requires knowing the sea level atmospheric pressure at the start of your hike (which is something that changes daily). Without calibrating the watch the altimeter will not work. Even when the watch is calibrated you must pause the altimiter setting when you rest for long periods of time or it will start to stray. The compass must be calibrated periodically as well (not sure how often as instructions are not clear) and I would not trust it for anything other that a ball-park direction. The thermometer only works when the watch is off your wrist for 30 min or so (but is accurate when not on your wrist). Bottom line, it is an expensive, complex, bulky digital watch that basically tells time, has an alarm and can tell you if the Barometric pressure is raising or dropping. [...]

The reverse display is very hard to read in my opinion.

hard to read with sunglasses on need to remove sunglasses to read which can be a big problem if u are using both hands

Use the watch for backpacking. Enjoy the compass.

totally disappointed. Tried the provided spare battery and another new one I had, the unit backlight never worked, the chime didn't work. I read additional reviews (that I hadn't read before the purchase) and found that this unit has had reliability problems. No more chances....off it goes.
